About This IV
Hair growth is one of the most nutritionally demanding physiological processes in the body — the hair follicle ranks among the fastest-dividing cell populations, consuming enormous quantities of micronutrients with every growth cycle. The Hair+ Drip delivers a clinically calibrated matrix of 11 active compounds that target the four core biochemical pillars of hair restoration: collagen and keratin synthesis, follicular oxidative stress reduction, scalp microcirculation enhancement, and iron-dependent haemoglobin oxygen delivery to dermal papilla cells. Vitamin C at 4000mg IV is the essential cofactor for prolyl and lysyl hydroxylase — the enzymes that stabilize collagen's triple-helix structure in the perifollicular dermal sheath. Without adequate Vitamin C, this sheath weakens, reducing the mechanical anchoring that holds the hair shaft in the follicle. Magnesium Chloride at 1200mg activates over 300 enzymatic reactions including those in the mitochondrial electron transport chain of follicle stem cells and stimulates scalp tissue perfusion through nitric oxide-dependent vasodilation. Dexpanthenol (B5) at a combined 1500mg dose is the precursor to coenzyme A — the universal acyl carrier essential for fatty acid synthesis in sebaceous glands (which maintain the lipid film protecting hair shaft integrity) and for steroid hormone metabolism in the adrenal glands (cortisol dysregulation is a primary driver of telogen effluvium). NAC at 500mg is the rate-limiting precursor for glutathione synthesis in follicular melanocytes and dermal papilla cells, protecting them from the reactive oxygen species generated by UV radiation, DHT signalling, and chronic inflammation — all major causes of premature follicle miniaturisation. L-Carnitine at 250mg has been shown in clinical studies to stimulate hair follicle proliferation and reduce apoptosis in follicular keratinocytes, improving anagen (growth phase) duration. Biotin at 50mg IV achieves concentrations far exceeding oral biotin — it is an essential cofactor for carboxylase enzymes (acetyl-CoA carboxylase, propionyl-CoA carboxylase) that regulate fatty acid synthesis for the lipid envelope protecting the hair shaft cortex. The optional Iron vial (20mg) corrects ferritin deficiency — the most common treatable cause of diffuse hair loss in women and men, with serum ferritin below 40 ng/mL strongly correlated with telogen effluvium.

How It Works
Hair follicle cycling is governed by the balance between anagen (growth, 2–7 years), catagen (regression, 2–3 weeks), and telogen (rest/shedding, 3 months). Nutritional deficiencies accelerate the premature entry into catagen and extend telogen, reducing hair density over successive cycles. Vitamin C (4000mg IV) is the obligate cofactor for prolyl hydroxylase and lysyl hydroxylase — enzymes that hydroxylate proline and lysine residues in procollagen, enabling the three alpha-chains to coil into the stable triple helix. Without this hydroxylation, collagen is structurally fragile and cannot form the basement membrane or connective tissue sheath that anchors hair follicles in the dermis. Vitamin C also regenerates oxidized glutathione (GSSG → GSH), amplifying the antioxidant protection provided by NAC. Magnesium Chloride (1200mg) is a cofactor for magnesium-dependent ATPases in follicle dermal papilla cells — the signalling hub of the hair follicle — and for the enzyme cystathionine beta-synthase that converts homocysteine to cysteine (the keratin structural amino acid). Magnesium also activates endothelial NOS (eNOS) to produce nitric oxide, causing vasodilation in the scalp microvasculature and increasing nutrient and oxygen delivery to the follicular dermal papilla. Dexpanthenol (B5, 1500mg combined) is converted to pantothenic acid and then to coenzyme A (CoA). CoA is the universal acyl carrier required for: (1) fatty acid synthesis in sebaceous gland cells for the protective sebum film around the hair shaft; (2) mitochondrial ATP production via the Krebs cycle in follicle stem cells; and (3) steroid hormone biosynthesis in the adrenal glands — cortisol excess is a primary trigger of telogen effluvium, and adequate B5 supports healthy HPA axis regulation. NAC (500mg) is the rate-limiting precursor for L-cysteine, which is in turn the rate-limiting precursor for glutathione (Glu-Cys-Gly). Follicular melanocytes produce melanin through a process that generates hydrogen peroxide as a byproduct — in ageing follicles, catalase activity declines and H₂O₂ accumulates, bleaching the hair and damaging follicle DNA. Glutathione (via NAC) is the primary defence against this follicular oxidative stress. NAC also directly supports keratin biosynthesis: keratin contains 14–18% cysteine by weight, and adequate cysteine supply is directly rate-limiting for hair shaft protein production. L-Carnitine (250mg) has been investigated specifically in androgenic alopecia: it upregulates the Bcl-2 anti-apoptotic signalling pathway in follicular keratinocytes, reducing the apoptotic cell death that prematurely terminates the anagen phase. Carnitine also ensures adequate mitochondrial fatty acid oxidation in the energy-intensive follicle dermal papilla cells. Biotin (50mg IV) activates four essential carboxylase enzymes — acetyl-CoA carboxylase (fatty acid synthesis), propionyl-CoA carboxylase (branched-chain amino acid catabolism), pyruvate carboxylase (gluconeogenesis), and 3-methylcrotonyl-CoA carboxylase (leucine catabolism). All four are critical for the lipid metabolism and energy regulation of rapidly proliferating follicle cells. Biotin deficiency causes alopecia, nail brittleness, and seborrhoea in animal models — IV delivery achieves tissue concentrations that oral biotin cannot match. Selenium (1mg) is the cofactor for glutathione peroxidase-1 (GPx1) — the primary enzyme protecting follicle cell membranes from lipid peroxidation caused by reactive oxygen species. Selenium also activates iodothyronine deiodinase, the enzyme that converts inactive T4 to active T3 thyroid hormone in scalp tissue — hypothyroidism is a major cause of diffuse hair loss, and local scalp T3 availability is critical for normal anagen progression.
